CURRENT  NEW HOME DEVELOPMENT

THE TANNER SUBDIVISION - CIRCA 1912

The Tanner Subdivision was formed by a local entrepreneur by the name of John W Tanner in the early 1900's. At the time, Flowery Branch was a bustling railroad town with local farmers and other small factories competing for their own American Dream. Lake Sidney Lanier had not yet been proposed, but the potential of Flowery Branch to be a prosperous town where families were raised and businesses thrived already existed. Fast forward 108 years and you still find the same potential that existed back then. The City Council and their management team have a determination to rebuild and improve the Downtown area to once again to give it a heightened relevance. They strive to maintain the "small town" feel while modernizing their infrastructure and attracting local business.

In early February of 2020 The City Council and the Hall County Development Authority authorized a $5.5 million dollar investment to be spent on improvements on and around Main Street. The money is to be spent on new sidewalks, parks, street lights and more. Work on Mainstreet has already began.

The City Council passed a Personal Transportation Vehicle Ordinance in 2018 allowing golf carts to be driven on city roads. This was a major win for the residents in the Downtown area of Flowery Branch, as it allows local residents to drive their golf carts to Hideaway Bay Marina and to the Shops and Restaurants on Main Street.
